In this day of texting and emails, an old fashioned written and posted letter is still the best way to get some real action.
Better still, if you have a problem with say a bank, or telecom company, send two copies of the letter to two different execs.
From the receiver's point of view, a letter does not go away and usually ends up on the table to be dealt with. It forces the issue. And if ignored, the receiver knows that pretty soon another may follow, or worse still, go to his superior and he will be asked why he didn't deal with it. Oh yes, it works alright.
If Gillard distrusts her colleagues to the extent mentioned here, then it won't be long before it all unravels. How can you have meaningful discussions with people you don't trust? Its mutually exclusive.
