Gillard has made Rudd Foreign Minister - if she thinks Rudd is going to let her have anything to do with Foreign Affairs she will be in for a shock. Not that she has shown much ability or interest in this area anyway.
It is also a perfect position for Rudd to agitate and undermine her leadership.
And to think Winsdor and Oakeshott's supposed key criteria was "stability" with a green alliance and three "independents"...and the Rudd factor on top of all this lol!
