Gillard clearly has not thought this through, as in the grand tradition of Pink Batts, BER, RSPT etc,. Classic policy on the run. My prediction East Timor will descend into violence and anarchy if they try to put a detention centre there.

I don't know how this will play out domestically, but Gillard had better improve quick smart if she is going to match the spin about her and the expectations built thereof.
