In the comments section following that particular post by Ackerman, a reader said that he went to Lord Monckton's talk on (against) climate change in Brisbane and he (Monckton) made this comment:

"Towards the end of his presentation, he made a comment that Julia Gillard will be challenged by Kevin Rudd in March because, he says he is told that “Rudd now has the numbers” . When asked by a member of the audience how he knew this information, Lord Monckton replied his source is impeccable."

One of many comments making similar speculation but... we are indeed watching a very interesting political scenario develop (or unravel).
