Gillard lies uncovered

In the section of her book on asylum-seekers, Ms Gillard wrote: “John Howard skilfully rode the political momentum that can be created around asylum-seeker issues at the 2001 election.

"Coming after the terrorist shock of 9/11 and in the atmosphere of fear that it created, Howard took a hairy-chested political approach and deployed our elite military forces to stop a Norwegian freighter, the Tampa, from bringing rescued asylum-seekers to our shore.”

In fact, the Tampa episode actually took place weeks before the September 11 attacks in 2001.

The problem I have with all this is that standards of decency, honesty, and integrity were so trashed during her reign that they can not be restored. Absolutely anything goes now, in trying to discredit anyone you don't like. Another click in the rachet to the bottom. If you can get away with it, its ok.
