    Actually Jantimot I don't think it is actually that bad right now as there is already substantial funding in place to aid in the learning of disabled children with Down Syndrome etc and the medicare system should be taking care of their medical needs etc. No doubt there is always more that can be done to improve the lives of some carers and the improve the likelihood of the disabled person becoming a contributor to society.

    My question is are we actually spending the money already there in the most effective manner?

    FYI my son has Downs and there is already thousands of dollars available for speech therapy etc (granted it doesn't go far given the cost of the sessions), and there is travel allowances/cabs to take the kids to the appropriate schools, along with various other disability concessions.
