I agree completetly. The $5000 deposit proves nothing and if you read The Australian article carefully there is no evidence that it was actually paid to Gillard, only that it was associated with her name... but her statement today doesn't dispel the speculation.
Abbott would be a fool to chase this one up on the strength of the flaky evidence. How about attacking the government on one of its policies? ... like the doomed internet filter that cost tax payers millions to consider before it was dumped?
