One of the problems of doing away with the monarchy is the question of who should replace.
Funnily enough the English Monarchs ARE 'born to rule' and are brought-up and educated with that in mind. No one in this country has that sort of background so we are then left having to find someone suitable. Any suggestions? Rudd, Hawke, Fraser, Howard, your local newsagent?
Of course, Julia's mentioning of the subject at this particular moment is the usual politician's catchpenny slogan-mongering, in this case designed to take a little attention away from the main game - as is happening here and now.
