I would say her whole career from law firm to politics she's benefitted from being a female the company/party can push forward to show how progressive they are and increasing their % of females.

And the final step after she was given the deputy leadership was the leadership after Rudd began to falter.

She was so hopelessly out of her depth as prime minister it was frankly embarrassing.
