The rabble who took part in the riot in Canberra yesterday, are not representative of Aboriginal people. they are, in fact, a self interested mix of left wing antagonists, protesters without a cause, professional students who will never be gainfully employed, and a few indigenous people who are led along by the nose.
It is reported in todays AFR, that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner, Mr Mick Gooda, is quoted as saying,"An aggressive, divisive and frightening protests such as this has no place in debates about the affairs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples or in any circumstances".
Mr Warren Mundine, chairman of the Australian Indigenous Chamber of Commerce, and former ALP president said, "This is a motley crew of people on the fringe of Aboriginal society".
At least there are some people who have the right idea.
