    The ALP will not win the next federal election. For Labor the only consideration, assuming they are rational, is how many seats they can save. If the ALP stick with Gillard and submit the population to another six month's of campaigning then they will risk the party's very existence.

    The WA election has clearly demonstrated that Gillard is toxic. Rudd isn't really an option for alternative leader(He should have walked after being deposed). Shorten doesn't have enough character to lead Labor to a thrashing. Given all this the ALP will serve up Crean, or some similarly hopeless MP, to play patsy PM and wear the electorate's anger. Sad thing is whoever they choose will actually believe they have done good thing.
