Governments as a general rule hang tough as long as is feasable. That usually means that they need to give a new leader about 12 months to establish credentials.
Yes Labor took a last gasp approach with a Rudd removal and in opposition did it late with Hawke over Hadden.
IMO it makes no sense to change a Labor leader at this point in time.
So it is either 12 months to prove credentials or a last gasp/ last minute approach.
Changing leaders this early only allows circumstances to prove the impotence of leaders over economic circumstances.
And economic circumstances rule, and no government or leader has any control over what is about to happen.
Cycles have it all mapped out and can't be denied.
Who is at fault? It is us the public. We, the herd, demand and cause the troubles we get. Governments are a reactionary force we turn to after we have caused our own problems.
Yes, we are wanton then blame the government we elected, then blame them, then expect them to fix our mess.
We are so pathetic.
