    nuttsie (and others)

you are confusing two terms: refugees and asylum seekers.

the asylum seekers are who are being accused of being "illegals". The world is awash with asylum seekers - the few that make it to Australia are (literally) a drop in the ocean.
These asylum seekers are using every means of transport they can to get away from something - war, repression, starvation and so on. They may or may not be genuine refugees - that is up to the courts to decide.

You point to the "people smugglers" as the problem yet you end up blaming the people.

Until the whole planet is "fair" as you put it, the problem will continue, and it will continue to grow. The solution lies with the G8/G20 and the whole economic system distributing the resources of the planet in a more equitable manner. Most of these people come from the third world. This third world had the economic guts ripped out of it by 300 years of western exploitation so that we can enjoy the lifestyle we now have. We stole their resources and their people and created capitalism and industrlialisation. Now they want a share of something that was built using their own resources for way below the true value of it.

    Keep them out.
