Perhaps Ms Gillard is hoping to develop a 'profile' for her defacto partner on the basis that it would groom him to become, now what's the name for a PM's husband, uummmm, First Man??????
Makes plenty of sense doesn't it, especially as he will be a defacto member of the Govt. should such a scenario eventuate (highly likely I'd think).
Boy oh boy, our first female PM likely to be a single, childless, non-religious, former partner of a less than successful union official AND former member of the student communist movement. WOW, what a way to break the mould.....
