    "So exactly what is the problem?"


    If voters understood what "socialism" means, there wouldn't be too many who would want it, imo. The first sentence below doesn't sound Australian or democratic to me.

    Here is the first paragraph of "Socialism from Wiki:
    "Socialism is an economic system in which the means of production are publicly or commonly owned and controlled cooperatively; or a political philosophy advocating such a system.[1]

    As a form of social organization, socialism is based on co-operative social relations and self-management; relatively equal power-relations and the reduction or elimination of hierarchy in the management of economic and political affairs"

    However, I doubt the second sentence would fit in to Gillard's ideas as it seems she is not one for sharing power - often her own caucus is not told of major politices until just prior to the public being informed. Gillard doesn't appear to one for consultative processes by a long shot.
