Good set of views.
FWIW, I'm not ruling out Gina working with ALB completely just yet. Seems like quite a rational thing for her to do if she has cash and wants to diversify into lithium. She was at pains to point out her attributes and to say she hadn't paid over $3 for her shares (ALB, I'm not outbidding you, I just want a piece of the pie and I can add a lot of Australian muscle and finance.)
I'm also wondering who sold the volume of shares that Gina has picked up and whether that's a clue as to the game plan.
The slight drop in SP today probably means nothing, or does it suggest:
- Gina and ALB will work together and there will not be a higher bid due to Gina's blocking stake
- Gina and LTR will work together and there will not be a higher bid due to Gina's blocking stake
- Gina stressing she hasn't paid over $3 has been seen as a cap
- concern that the ALB deal will fall over, Gina's happy with her stake and won't be buying more, which will lead to a medium term SP drop.
Whatever happens, Gina wins. Personally, I either get $3 a share or stay on for what should be a good ride.
