Strange how even one event can change your perception of a parish.
I came across a homeless man sleeping in the grounds of my local church, not on drugs, or alcohol, but very ill. It was winter, wet and cold. To cut a long story short, the response I got from the priest was that this individual was a "liability". No help offered etc., just a liability !!!
I never set foot in the church again.
Pumped into one of the parishioners at the local shops who informed me that there had been apparently some misappropriation of parish funds. Was the priest charged, no he was moved to a wealthier parish. apparently the new priest is a lovely friendly man !!! Really !!!
Just how far do these cover ups go. I'm horrified at their behaviour and totally lack of conscience and justice.
