Say we look at buying gold stocks. After languishing for a few years due to peace of earth, low inflation and a fizzy equity market perhaps it's now time to look at this neglected sector.
Is gold increasing in value? of course. So what should be the type of mining companies to look at?
For me things like reserve numbers, management record, price, cost per oz etc.
Names that come to mind are NCM, SAR, PRU, MML, RRL. They chart much the same and suggest about now is a good entry point.
For some platforms you might not even be able to trade your pick. I'd use GFT for the above. 5% margin for NCM and 10% for the rest.
