sue! I have noticed from your postings on a different thread, that you've had direct practical experience on drilling rigs..
In relation to AZZ's Harrison 1 well,,it seems to me that we are dealing with two " separate " incidents...The second one i have already discounted as being- "Just bad luck " associated with the lodgistics of a retrival attempt. It's the first incident that's more relivant to me , because it was caused by the instantaneous drill encounter with a high pressure medium.
I have been pondering about the magnitude of pressure required to cause that level of damage to the drill string, and given that the ASX announcements never contain any technical data relating to such things,, it all becomes a bit of a guess !!
My guess is greater than 3000 psi.
I would be interested to hear your guess, if you're happy to give me one !! Cheers, benmoff.
