There has been much criticism of RC over his departure but let's not forget that he managed one the best timed (40c per share) equity raisings which has left the company in a good financial position. In fact the company doesn't really have to do any deal for things to improve dramatically. It can just keep operating LT and pay down debt. Crux can just be handed over to Shell to organise a joint development. Given the scope and size of Prelude, I can't see the resources Minister objecting to a five year extension if Shell ask for one.
