i can close this off now with the good news that today, after 2 months of unhelpful emails and calls, someone at myer was able to look into this, see that i wasn't given a refund, and process the refund immediately. The explanation was that one part of myer on line needed another part to confirm they had cancelled my order ... which never happened it seems. When i spoke to customer service and they checked for me.. apparently they couldn't see the refund and so assumed it had been processed... ?? Makes sense? No.
Paypal actioned the Myer refund in a millisecond .. all those who canned PayPal and their systems might be pleased to know!
