When we are jumping up and down now to accept the 57, we forget that that already was a shit offer for a quality stock. The true value of this project will only be seen once it gets developed and pumps out all the iron ore that China will need for many years to come. The $1 party was by no means an unrealistic hope, indeed, it could have been far far higher than that.
But now we (myself included) are jumping to support the 57. We have been slowly conditioned downwards.
I think the Chinese really want this, in fact they must have it for all the reasons given here so many times. It will be their future. If they really want it, let them pay
