Our patent portfolio is core to everything we do. It will be the foundation of any commercial deal we do. We are putting considerable time and money into making the portfolio as impregnable as possible.

We have 2 generations of patent applications, a perfectly standard situation where you upgrade your patent portfolio as you learn more about your drug – how to use it and how it works.

The 1^st generation was lodged 2-3 years ago and was based on early data. The 2^nd generation is far more recent and is ongoing as the clinical and preclinical data comes in. The 2^nd generation patents are largely around use and clinical outcomes, which is exactly where we want to be. These 2^nd generation patent applications are starting to be examined and we remain confident that the key commercial claims will be granted.
