    Conclusion:
    The 30 reference glaciers with continuous observation series since 1976 show an accelerated thinning, with mean annual ice losses of 0.14 mw.e. (1976-85), 0.25 mw.e . (1986-95) a nd 0.58 mw.e. (1996-2005)
