Have a few work mates who sold investment properties in the Gladstone /Boyne Island area since Xmas. They all made good money 2 sold quick 1 took a bit more auction negotation after auction etc.
If you are just thinking about it because of coal(although it has much more also) then you will need to be on the ball. Lots of contracting in the coal mines now so they can downsize at the drop of a hat not like the mid to late ninetys where most people worked for the mining company's and got good retrenchment payouts with a few months warning. Coal at the moment is still going through the roof and they all hope for the next 10 years but who knows, big bubble to burst this time if it happens.
