Yes it may well have not been that brand but you know what? Who cares. The take home was that various brands have tried to diversify (read - get greedy) and stuffed their businesses. And the useful piece of your post isn';t anything you said but the way you said it which confirms my point about the jealously guarded brand names these companies own.
As the expert you are it would have helped the converstaion for you to contribute the names of the companies that went out of the stores rather than making a d!ck of yourself.
