can never get over the complacency of manufacturers who rely on lithium ion batteries basing their whole existence on a plentiful supply of reasonably price cobalt. I think a lot of them think that cobalt will be phased out over time or substitutes will emerge. Cobalt is there for a very important reason that is to prevent fire in the batteries if a company takes the risk to try to eliminate cobalt and creates a rash of fires in their product that means a recall decimating their brand , probably bankrupting the company. Cobalt is here to stay , many new mines have to be created to handle the growing demand into the future IMO.
