Get numbers right. Glencore buying 70% of Mina Justa project.
So Glencore paying about 24 USc/lb Cu for 70% share of reserves of 163mt at 0.8% Cu, or say 9.4 US c/lb of resources of 413.3mt at 0.79% Cu.
Feas study completed August 2009 for 110,000tpa operation, 11.5 year life, strip ratio 2.5 to 1, opex US$0.90 per lb, capex US$745m
One of many such acquisitions in recent years, mostly companies buying undeveloped resources carrying (like this one) a feas study.
And price paid is pretty much in line. Maybe this price is a bit higher?
Note Mina Justa is not a big deposit? Much smaller than Los Calatos?
What?s interesting is that Glencore are buying a smaller project.
Is another listed junior/midcap Cu company in the world with as large and as well located an undeveloped Cu deposit as MNC with Los Calatos?
MNC now at 30cps selling at around 4 US c/lb Cu equiv in resources, but with only 21,000m drilling at LC.
Double resources and it sells for only 2 USc/lb?
Plus all Chile projects?
