At this point I don’t think it’s a left field possibility, like you say I reckon in a few years a lot of people will look back and wonder how they missed it.
2 of the 4 primary vanadium mines in the west are likely to go bust because of their inability to raise capital to pay off their high interest loans (Bushveld in South Africa)
largo (Brazil) have their recovery grades crashing and costs rising
Glencore (South Africa) have protests at their mine, and regular power outtages
any serious VFB maker will be screaming out for secure supply, which at the moment you can only get from Largo.
Troydt may still have access to vanadium inventory stockpile levels, but it’s been at historic lows for years. Any 10% + spike in demand for vanadium, especially from outside China where they have secondary production from steel and can buy Russia’s output cheap off market, should lead to a big spike.
