Glencore to abandon Cobar sale

The rumour mill has Glencore abandoning its attempt to sell its Cobar copper mine.

Glencore is said to want a price that ranges from between $450 million and $500m. Suitors OZ Minerals and Sandfire Resources are understood to have lost interest, creating a guessing game as to which other parties may come forward.

I think Cobar would make an excellent addition to Oz, to balance PH and Carrapeteena. Located in far West NSW, it isn't that far away.  But not at the fancy price Glencore wants, who need to become more motivated. Another quarter of low prices should do the trick.
