Went to buy one of these last week....
Price quoted was without the battery and charger (the current popular "skin" concept being deployed by most battery power tool manufacturers).
I don't have any other Husqvarna power tools (being a Makita man) so I asked for the battery pack.
"Don't have one in stock."
NOBODY in Australia has a Husqvarna battery pack (I checked).
Seems the battery pack has a computer chip that manages the charging and logs battery parameters (charge history, temperature, that sort of thing) so the service department can tell if the pack has been abused.
Can't get the chips - Husqvarna are pulling their hair out - it's a serious problem.
One thing that will constrain BRN in the short to medium term is the lack of manufacturing capacity for chip fabrication.
Right now the US chip manufacturers (and aided and abetted by the US Govt.) are frantically repatriating chip fabrication back to main land USA (along with a number of other industries).
Would like to hear other posters views/intel on this.
