You can't really have equality of men and women, because they are different.
I think that it is a safe bet to assume that what people mean by equality of men and women is equality of opportunity in areas that do not rely on brute strength.
In our era apart from sport, and a few other occupations brute strength is no longer a deciding factor.
Of course, gender specific roles in reproduction are acknowledged.
Most occupations now rely on cognitive abilities and on hand-eye coordination rather than on brute strength. You will find more women engineers, electricians, plumbers, pilots, jockeys... and so on than ever before. There are more stay at home Dads than ever before while their partners earn the bacon.
So I don't really know what you mean by: You can't really have equality of men and women, because they are different.
