History in the making? Here is what will happen: those who cannot afford to buy or grow food will starve. Same as today, same as yesterday, same as 1000 years ago. It may be on a larger scale, but it will be marginalised in those countries that can afford it.

"Look at these unfortunate people suffering from the drought" they will say, not knowing or caring to know the bio-fuel in their car was produced on land that could have been used to feed the very same people.

The above has happened throughout history and it will continue to happen. What would really be "history in the making" would be attempting to feed everyone regardless of loss or profit.
