"The markets spook for a number of reasons. Money is the 'one'. Covid swings are all about trade, economic activity and money expectations."

Money expectations or is it rational expectations?

Two days ago a company announced to the Aussie stock market that they have a product that tests made with mice have shown not only to be able to kill the covid-19 virus but also to block the sudden increase in the levels of the pro-inflammatory cytokines that in certain cases accompanies the infection (a reaction known as cytokine storm) which apparently is what is killing people.

One would expect that the news of a new covid-19 variant would be positive for the stock, but it turn out to be the opposite with the price of the stock falling from 11.5 cents, its high reached at the beginning of trading, to 8.4 cents at the closing.
