We mostly all know about shipping operations from Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), Maersk CMA CGM, Cosco and others. Those four each have about or well over 500 ships in operation.
Life span of ships is an interesting engineering question. About 22 years. The age of the ships operating now is then the one of the factors in new builds. Marine Insight 2020 put Korea in the front and Japan in the mix. China is clearly moving!
