    Re Greenland I was just paraphrasing a statement I heard by global weather forecaster (The Browning Newsletter) Evelyn Garriss who said something like "alarmist pointing at a melting glacier pretty much where Vikings grew summer crops in the 10th century"
    Re the medieval period, I have seen conflicting data on temperature records, I believe though the warm period prior to that was warmer than now. Mind you the hockey stick chart wiped all that out.
    Also interesting, I saw a survey of weather data stations in the USA, most were affected by the locations, ie built up areas are a bit warmer.
    All interesting and I'm sure both sides are biased in some way, its natural I think
