Perhaps we need to widen the focus away from
the pince-nez economics of Graham's rooftop solar substitutes for coal-fired electricity.

My opinion is every tiny contributon helps.

But I understand that it can seem daunting to scale back the world's carbon economies while cranking up its non-carbon industries - so why bother.

But humankind has faced fearsome challenges (on a global scale) before and survived to tell the tale.

Think of Captain Cook and Captain Bligh setting sail into an uncertain future!

Think of the tall ships that bought my forebears to Australia who felled enormous trees (by hand) to
sow the seeds of civilisation in an alien continent:
