For example when terrorists leader are declaring war on the west, recruiting, training and deploying teams of suicidal and homicidal lunatics on secret missions to destroy major landmarks in their stated enemies cities with maximum civillian deaths and economic damage, I tend to think that this is a real threat to be taken seriously and I expect a competent government to put policies in place to protect its citizens and its national interest.
However when algore makes $100million pushing an obvious and fault ridden global-warming scam and preaches that "the end is nigh" to those leading normal lives while he continues to lead an extraordinarily lavish carbon-spewing lifetyle he demands that the rest of the public abandon, I tend to be suspicious.
Then when some lefties adrift after the collapse and failure of the soviet empire jump on this global-warming fantasy as a convenient platform to destroy western economies and place themselves in charge of setting all economic, social and industrial policies by some shaky computer models they control for the next few hundred years or so, I tend to get more suspicious.
I tend to think that the real threat is from these leftie ratbags and from the well developed and predatory profit motive in the shady operators like algore, rather than the global warming hoax they are promoting.
But by the methods you described some members of the public are so confused as to be unable to distinguish the real threat.
And the worst of all is that their vote is equal to my vote.
