To be honest the fact that there is a debate is the issue.
I would be surprised if there was more than one poster here that can actually read the scientific papers and truly, honestly say they understand the research and methodology used to gather and interpret their data.
Frankly 95% of the people who comment on these sorts of things seem to not even understand how research papers are created or how peer reviewing actually works.
