Peers = qualified scientists in the same field.
Peer review is an anonymous activity. The peers never know who reviewed their documents.

And frankly, scientists are not politicians that have something to gain.
You don't become a scientists to make money or something stupid like that.
But that doesn't stop conspiracy theorists from believing the whole peer review process is a big scam.

The IPCC probably doesn't, but how many people on these forums gather all of the information they know about climate change from the biased media or from these forum posts. Only half a dozen posts on this topic ever feature actual scientific journal articles to back up their statements, we have more posts featuring cherry-picked data from a climate change conspiracy website than actual hard facts and data.
