1970s New ice age -If the belief was widespread and I dont recall anyone being too concerned about it -they whoever they may be got it wrong.no one was asked to do anything about it and nothing was done .Just conclusions from casual observations
1980s Acid rain- very real for those living in highly concentrated population areas with indusrialization. Unquestionably got it right Bad effects already being felt but thank god they got onto the problem and they fixed it .This despite the usual naysayers saying it would be the end of the world if you reduced so2 etc
1990s Ozone layer You were obviously not in Australia if you did not know about it and that it was real.Again thank god they were onto it In this instance there was global co-opertation
It was realatively easy to fix this problem otherwise Austalia would now be a difficult place to live in
2000s Global warming -Yes they got it right . Thank god the scientists were on to it and a dedicated unpopular minority were able to start saying we need to react to this
There are fluctuations but the trend is always up.In the last 20 years the record for the hottest year since recording began has been broken at least 15 times and it has been 47 years since we have had a cooler than average year
Yes there are things that cause natural variations such as ice ages.
It was partly through their attempts to understand what caused and ended previous ice ages that climate scientists came to understand the dominant role that carbon dioxide plays in Earth’s climate system, and the primary role that human-produced carbon dioxide is playing in current global warming.
Overall the consencus that man made warming overshadows all of these
2010 to current Climate change Again the scientists have it right .It is not an easy task to predict how weatyher will change with global warming because there are so many variable that change with warming and mostly interdependent Still every year with more data , more computing power and more experience we get better and better at it and Our prediction become more accurate
Ever wondered why your house insurance policy gets more and more expensive for "acts of god "
