That's the normal way to do it prop the bid side and iceberg out.
What they did could be considered against a trading license they are obligated to maintain an orderly market not sell or fake selling the entire bid (or most of it) in one go.
I've had orders declined elsewhere on the basis of maintaining an orderly market in the past
