You have to visit America to understand how insane it is.
The US Government spent 850 Billion Dollars on hunting down and killing one man - Osama bin Laden. That amount of money could have raised New Orleans above flood level, increased levee heights from Category 3 to Category 5, and modernised the US road and rail systems. But the Feel-Good of killing one man toughed America's image - so the *borrowed* billions were well-spent!
In Texas last July, a ranch-owner I was working for took me to see one of the spookiest things I've ever seen. We drove past a mega-rich Corporate Ranch to a small town that had been abandoned because globalisaton had sent their jobs to low-wage lands. Townsfolk held on until the school was closed from lack of pupils. Then they walked away to look for jobs (in San Antonio) that globalisation had sent to low-wage lands - mainly China and Mexico.
Thus America dividies into (A) wealthy corporations and (B) jobless or non-union workers on $6 an hour who rely on Food Stamps to eat.
