I can tell neither of you have had real Mexican food, my point isn’t about whether Mexicans are making it, it’s about the quality of the offering and how close it is to the real deal. The real thing on the street is good enough that Michelin stars are being handed out.
The biggest reason we don’t get authentic Mexican food is because the migration here from Mexico is extremely low, maybe it’s due to the distance compared to China, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, India, Italy, Greece, the Middle East. Hell even South America have better offerings.
If you go to Smoking Gringos in Blacktown NSW you’ll see a line out the door for their Birria Tacos. It’s not made by someone Mexican but they know what they’re doing and it’s much closer than everything else.
Anyway feel free to buy GYG at a 2 billion dollar valuation, I’m sure that’ll go over well.
