It would seem so. Jesus did not disparage the "law" of the past, but proclaimed a new love based way of looking at each other and our relationship with God.
Why then after another 2,000 years do we not have a further progression of god to man and man to man relationship.
We have had new denominations and cults but in the main they are reinterpretations of existing doctrine.
