mrrplanner, what tricky suggested is that my strategy is a good long-term strategy, but his and yours make a better short-term strategy. Again, I ask: if you can achieve better returns over a short period of time, why can't you achieve better returns over a longer period?
Of course with five competitors, I'm likely to come third over a short period of time, but short-term results are dictated by little other than chance. Indeed statistically each one of us is likely to come third.
