intheblack, the point i was trying to get at (in a simplified manner) was that your low risk strategy will say always return 10% no matter what happens. However, our high risk strategy will produce 40% one term and -40% the next. Therefore over a long period of time you'll finish with your 10% and we could end up even.
just like to draw everyones attention to JRV which went up 22.7% today :) might offset the rest of me portfolios performance.
