Interesting, but I don't think MP has the IP for magnet sintering. This is wrapped up largely by the Japanese and Chinese.
I believe that MP's REO separation plant is still down and that they are still shipping ore/concentrate to China for processing.
So there are some challenges ahead. MP share price today is US$46.05 with US$99 million in sales at 20% net margin with a P/E of 71.64.
I've mentioned in the past that it may be possible on future for LYC to move into downstream processing as well, Maybe one of the other majors will see GM's move as an impetus for discussion.
But making magnets is a different business altogether from mining. And Lynas is tight with the Japanese magnet manufacturers.
The MP statement also indicates that they will need to license IP.
