I think those execs epitomise all that has been wrong with US industry in the last three decades.

Let 'em rot I say. Those three companies are responsible for producing the "yank-tanks" that waste massive amounts of fuel and produce polution - they only considered improving car safety when Ford was fined hundreds of millions of dollars a few decades ago ago (worth billions in today's money) for deliberately not fixing a known safety issue that cost many lives because they anticipated that any compensation likely to be awarded would total less than the cost of modifying the vehicles!!!!!!!!!

These companies have not shown concern for the safety and well-being of their customers or the environment in the past - why should they be bailed out with public money - especially after displaying such arrogance as to fly private jets and dismiss ideas that their multi-million dollar salaries seem a bit rich for a company in financial strife.
