Yep agree glyphosate resistance is a big concern but lets not forget if we have glyphosate tolerance we will also have glufosinate tolerance available and that is a new mode of action that is dynamite on ryegrass. Glufosinate is poor on radish though. Radish is the main weed of concern here in the West.

I would be rotating between glyphosate and glufosinate tolerant varieties. At the moment I am effectively already selecting for glyphosate tolerance. The double knock system is too expensive (short term thinking I know but ...) and time consumptive.

Crops here in the West are looking good through the historically high rainfall parts. Drier seasons mean excellent nutrient use efficiency and low weed burdens. Elsewhere crops are late though have a bit of subsoil in the tank. Esperance this year is poorest area. We are looking good here with canolas probably 60% in bloom but I know we have expended most of the subsoil we had because of the dry start and early sowing. Personally I am carrying 'concern' if the current rain patterns don't get more robust. We know n eed 10-20mm a week to keep these crops heading to trendline yields. Good luck boys! Had some horror frosts here during the week which will undoubtably take out some of the forming canola pods and the main flowering stem.
